Chris Ruane, International Lead, The Mindfulness Initiative. Chris was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Clwyd North West up until 2019. Chris founded the All Party Parliamentary Group in 2014 and was Co-Chair for four of the six years up to 2019. He is now its Honorary President. Chris leads on developing the Mindfulness Initiative's relationships with politicians and mindfulness advocates in legislatures across the globe, and regularly speaks about mindfulness in politics and the experience of the UK parliament at events and conferences on behalf of the Mindfulness Initiative.
Jamie Bristow, Director, The Mindfulness Initiative. Jamie initially contributed to the Mindfulness All-Party Parliamentary Group's inquiry whilst he was Business Development Director at the digital mind-health platform, Headspace. He was then asked to take over as Director of the Mindfulness Initiative in spring 2015. In the past, Jamie has been an advertising executive, global brand director and climate change campaigner.
Michael Apollo MHSc, RP is a recognized leader in practical, research-based strategies for enhancing mental health and well-being. As CEO and Founder of Mindful Society Global Institute, he has introduced millions to effective, science-backed practices. Formerly the Director of Mindfulness Programs at the University of Toronto, Michael combines clinical expertise with real-world applications in his seminars. A registered clinician, he has collaborated with the UK National Health Service, the Canadian Parliament, and the World Health Organization. Michael is an innovator of award-winning mental health digital technologies used by health professionals at the Mayo Clinic, NASA, and Harvard. His work has been featured on Netflix and Reader’s Digest and is trusted globally for its innovative, research-based approach.
